German prosecutors investigate 120+ new cases involving convicted nurse
German prosecutors are expanding investigations into a former nurse who was sentenced to life imprisonment in November for ten counts of murder and 27 counts of attempted murder. The Aachen prosecutor's office is currently investigating more than 120 additional suspected cases, with 39 exhumations already performed.
In a separate but related investigation, the Cologne prosecutor's office has exhumed seven bodies. These inquiries focus on potential killings occurring prior to December 2023, including time spent working at a clinic in Cologne until 2020. The nurse's previous crimes in Würselen involved administering excessive doses of sedatives and painkillers to seriously ill patients during night shifts.
A new indictment is expected to be brought against the individual, likely during the course of next year.
