German Red Cross launches fall blood donation campaign
The German Red Cross (DRK) is launching a fall blood donation campaign across several regions in Germany, specifically targeting new donors to prevent potential supply shortages during the autumn travel season.
In the Trier region, donation appointments are scheduled between October 12 and October 19, 2026. Locations include Trier, Trier-Ehrang, Piesport, Mülheim an der Mosel, Enkirch, Preist, Badem, and Schönecken. In Trier, a mobile blood donation unit will be stationed at Viehmarktplatz on October 14 and 15.
In Güllesheim, a donation event is scheduled for October 19, 2026, at the Raiffeisenhalle. To encourage participation, the DRK-Blutspendedienst West is offering incentives: first-time donors can receive a special coffee-to-go cup, while regular donors are offered a design edition of Fleur de Sel sea salt.
General requirements for donors include being a healthy individual aged 18 or older.
