German Red Cross names new district chief in Stade and co‑hosts blood drive in Neustadt
Kai Schulz has been appointed as Vorstandsvorsitzender and Kreisgeschäftsführer of the German Red Cross district association (DRK Kreisverband) in Stade, taking over from Uwe Lütjen, who will retire at the end of June. Schulz, who previously held senior municipal positions in Steinkirchen, Zeven and the Samtgemeinde Lühe, brings extensive experience in volunteer work, disaster protection and local administration.
Separately, the ADAC Pfalz and the DRK blood donation service organized a joint blood‑donation action in Neustadt on 12 June. The mobile donation unit was stationed in front of the ADAC office from 10:00 to 15:00, inviting healthy adults aged 18 or older and weighing at least 50 kg to donate. A single donation can help up to three patients requiring blood for surgery, accidents or serious illness, and participants were encouraged to book appointments in advance.
