German Red Cross receives funding and new emergency vehicles

The German Red Cross (DRK) has received significant investments to bolster emergency services and social programs in Germany. In the Eifelkreis region, the DRK Bitburg-Prüm district association has introduced two new emergency vehicles valued at over 500,000 euros. These include a new emergency transport vehicle (RTW) for the Arzfeld rescue station, equipped with advanced medical technology and a specialized stair chair, and a new emergency doctor vehicle (NEF) for the Bitburg station based on a Mercedes Vito.

In Hessen, the DRK state association has been awarded approximately 194,186 euros from LOTTO Hessen to support various social and health projects starting in 2026. This funding is designated for four key areas: the training of instructors for health and elderly care, the development of open elderly care services, migration and integration programs, and the strengthening of volunteer engagement.
