German regional banks evaluated for financial education quality

The "NextGen Financial Education 2026" analysis, conducted by the Society for Quality Assurance, has evaluated the digital financial education offerings of 74 German regional banks as part of the Young Finance Award.

The study highlights that while Generation Z shows significant interest in financial topics, substantial knowledge gaps remain regarding long-term decisions such as wealth accumulation, retirement planning, and ETF savings plans. The findings suggest that banks are increasingly taking on an educational role, acting as practical partners rather than just product advisors. By providing modern, target-group-oriented financial knowledge, banks aim to build trust and strengthen customer relationships to compete with international FinTech companies.
