German regional clubs start pre‑season with test matches

FC Gundelfingen lost 3‑1 to TSV Rain/Lech in their first pre‑season test match of the 2026/27 season. Coach Thomas Rudolph said the side was too static and highlighted defensive lapses. Goals were scored by Michael Knötzinger on a penalty, Yannick Maurer and Lukas Müller. About 100 spectators attended the Bayerniga fixture.

VfB Lübeck played a test match against TSV Brokstedt and won 8‑0. Luis Coordes opened the scoring, and the win formed part of the club’s centenary celebrations and preparation for the upcoming Regionalliga campaign. Captain Marvin Thiel addressed the team at halftime and new signing Luis Coordes featured prominently.
