German regional football clubs kick off new season with matches and community events

In Nordhausen, the local football club Wacker 90 opened its season on 21 August at the Albert‑Kuntz‑Sportpark with a youth showcase and a free concert by the band Emma, organized jointly by the district and the service society.

In Bavaria, DJK Ammerthal secured a 1‑0 victory over ASV Neumarkt in the opening match of the Bayernliga Nord, with Lucas Markert scoring the decisive goal in the 85th minute in front of about 1,000 spectators. Both events highlight the start of the new regional football season in Germany.
