German regional football: VfL Osnabrück devotion and player transfers

In Osnabrück, youth pastor Maik Stenzel has introduced a spiritual tradition for VfL Osnabrück home matches. Held at the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche in Schinkel, the eleven-minute devotion occurs 90 minutes before kickoff. The initiative aims to provide a spiritual foundation for fair play and respect, with the motto “May the better one win” rather than praying for a specific team's victory. The project has seen renewed interest following the club's promotion to the 2. Bundesliga.

In Bavarian football, Friedrich Lieder has transferred from FC Amberg to SpVgg SV Weiden. Previously a player-coach for Amberg in the Bezirksliga, Lieder joins Weiden to compete in the Bayernliga, where he is expected to serve as a key offensive player and leader.
