German regional programs celebrate cultural diversity
Various regional initiatives in Germany are highlighting cultural diversity through the ‘Interkulturelle Wochen’ (Intercultural Weeks) programs.
In Nidderau, a welcome reception was held for 47 individuals who received German citizenship in 2025. The new citizens represent 19 different countries, including nations from Europe such as Portugal, Croatia, and Poland, as well as Eritrea, Madagascar, Pakistan, Peru, and Syria. Mayor Andreas Bär and Foreigners' Advisory Board Chairman Chris Strobbe emphasized the importance of diversity and social cohesion during the event.
In the Nienburg district, the ‘Coordination Office for Migration and Participation’ has added new activities to the intercultural program. These include a historical city tour in Nienburg featuring a character named ‘Kutscher Heinrich’ to connect historical events with modern resident biographies, and a sensory ‘Spice Café’ in Bad Rehburg accompanied by a film screening.
