German Regions Launch New Funding Calls for Culture and Civic Projects

The Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine‑Westphalia has opened the application portal for the Regional Culture Programme (RKP) 2027. The call invites cooperative cultural projects in the Ostwestfalen‑Lippe (OWL) region, offering up to 50 % of total costs and additional barrier‑removal support of up to €5,000. Eligible applicants include clubs, associations, municipalities, institutions, private individuals and independent sponsors. Applications must be submitted online by 30 September 2027 after a mandatory consultation with the OWL Kulturbüro.

The LAG Regionalentwicklung of Landkreis Regensburg is seeking proposals for its LEADER “Support for Civic Engagement” programme for 2026. Grants cover 70 % of eligible net costs, capped at €5,000 per project, with a total budget of about €21,000. The call targets small‑scale initiatives that promote volunteer work, community cohesion and regional development goals such as economic growth, environmental protection and quality of life. Applications are accepted until the end of the year.
