German regions showcase urban development at Expo Real

At the Expo Real 2026 real estate and investment trade fair in Munich, several German regions are presenting major urban development and investment opportunities.

Dresden is showcasing four large-scale urban district projects: the Opern-Quartier Dresden, Sachsenplatz, Windmühlenstraße, and the Operetten-Areal Leuben. These mixed-use developments aim to address the city's need for approximately 21,000 new apartments by 2035, integrating residential spaces with workplaces, culture, and gastronomy. The city's presentation includes panel discussions regarding urban planning and the impact of the growing chip industry on the surrounding region.

Simultaneously, the Rhein-Neckar Metropolitan Region (MRN) is utilizing a joint regional stand to highlight its economic strength and investment potential. The MRN delegation includes 15 partners, such as municipalities and economic development agencies from Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, and Heidelberg. The regional presentation focuses on the area's central European location, accessibility, and competitive pricing to attract commercial real estate investors.
