German retailers recall frozen berry mixes over virus contamination risk

Major retailers in Germany, including Lidl, Aldi, Rewe, and Netto, have issued recalls for various frozen berry mixes due to potential contamination with Norovirus and Hepatitis A.

Specific products affected include Freshona Bio berry mixes at Lidl, Bio berry mixes at Aldi Nord and Süd, Bio berry mixes at Netto Marken-Discount, and ja! berry mixes at Rewe, Nahkauf, and Hit. Consumers are advised not to consume these products and can return them to the respective stores without a receipt.

Norovirus can cause sudden vomiting and diarrhea, posing a high risk of dehydration for young children, pregnant women, and the elderly. Hepatitis A can lead to liver inflammation, with symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, and jaundice appearing between 15 and 50 days after infection.
