German Rugby Player Anton Segner Makes Historic All Blacks Debut

Anton Segner, a 24‑year‑old winger from Frankfurt who moved to New Zealand at age 15, became the first German to play for the All Blacks. He entered the Nations Championship match against Italy in Wellington at the 40th minute, helping New Zealand secure a 47‑17 victory and earning the number 1237 All Black cap.

Segner said the moment was “unwirklich” and recalled his childhood dream of wearing the black jersey.
