German school trips to Italy and the Baltic Sea showcase cultural and leisure activities

From May 30 to June 5, 2026, a group of 25 twelfth‑grade students from Lornsenschule Schleswig travelled to northern Italy. They visited Peschiera del Garda, swam in the lake, explored Verona’s historic centre and the famous Juliet’s balcony, took a boat to Sirmione’s grottoes, and toured Milan’s cathedral, Piazza Gae Aulenti, Castello Sforzesco and the Bosco Verticale before returning to Schleswig.

Between June 8 and June 12, 130 ninth‑grade pupils and eight teachers embarked on a five‑day excursion to the Weissenhäuser Strand on the Baltic Sea. Highlights included the resort’s water‑park, beach activities, a day trip to Hamburg with visits to the planetarium, harbour cruise and Miniatur Wunderland, and water‑skiing sessions. The programme emphasized mixed‑class group work, fostering new friendships and culminating in a communal sunset on the beach.

Both trips were organized as educational and recreational experiences, combining cultural sightseeing with leisure and teamwork for the students involved.
