German schools Buckhorn and Rodenbeck receive charitable donations for child support programs

The graduating class of 2025 from Gymnasium Buckhorn in Germany presented a check for €850 to the charity Hände für Kinder in Hamburg‑Wohldorf, supporting short‑term stays for families with multiple disabled children. The donation came from the remaining funds of the school’s graduation committee, and the students said they hope to inspire future classes to give back.

At the school Rodenbeck, members of the Bürgerbataillon handed over €5,500 to the school’s support association, supplemented by contributions from Sparkasse Minden‑Lübbecke and the Stadtoffizierskorps, to fund equine therapy for pupils, especially those with special needs. The therapy, run with the Mindener Pferdezucht‑Reit‑ und Fahrverein, is praised for improving confidence, motor skills and social competence among the children.
