German schools' charity runs collect over €12,000 for hunger aid and clinic clowns

On 18 June 2026, a group of pupils from class 8c at Gymnasium Georgianum organised a donation run that attracted participants from grades 5‑10. The event raised €10,150.56, which will be donated to the global hunger‑relief organisation Aktion gegen den Hunger. The students prepared the run in their European‑study class and even a single class gathered €1,014 on its own.

At Peter‑Pan School in Rheine, students held a sponsor run in hot weather, collecting more than €1,800. €920 of the proceeds were handed to the charity Klinikclowns, who entertain children in hospitals; the remaining funds will support a school‑organised outing. The check was presented by visiting clowns, highlighting the community spirit behind both events.
