German schools honor retiring staff Marion Müller and Karin Triphaus

Marion Müller retired after more than 11 years as the long‑serving secretary of the Realschule in Mühlheim an der Donau. The school held a large farewell ceremony for her at the end of the school year, attended by about 500 pupils, staff and local officials, including the mayor. She was praised for her dedication during the building renovation, the pandemic and two rector changes. Verena Lohde, a former parent‑representative, will take over the secretariat.

Karin Triphaus, deputy director of the Erna‑de‑Vries‑Schule in Lathen, retired after 33 years of service, including a decade as deputy head since 2010. Students welcomed her with a red‑carpet reception, a song and a personalized performance by the school principal. Colleagues, family and friends highlighted her contributions to student representation, school planning and extracurricular events. The school community thanked her for her long‑term commitment and wished her health and happiness in retirement.
