German schools manage new terms and upcoming holiday breaks

Schools in Germany are transitioning through various seasonal and policy changes. At the Realschule Bad Waldsee, the new school year has commenced, welcoming new fifth-grade students and introducing several new faculty members to the teaching staff.

In the state of Rheinland-Pfalz, students are preparing for a two-week autumn break, with classes scheduled to resume on October 19. During this period, adult education centers (Volkshochschulen) are offering 'Learning in Holidays' (LiF) courses to help students review subjects like mathematics and German, as well as language courses for newly arrived residents.

Looking ahead to the second half of the school year, Rheinland-Pfalz plans to implement stricter regulations regarding mobile devices. Starting in February, the private use of digital devices is expected to be prohibited throughout the school day.
