German schools receive MINT and digital education awards

The national initiative ‘MINT Zukunft schaffen!’ has awarded numerous schools in Germany for excellence in STEM (MINT) and digital education. In Hesse, 42 schools received recognition during an event in Bensheim. The awards include the ‘MINT-friendly School’ and ‘Digital School’ seals, which are valid for three years. Notably, the recertification rate for MINT-friendly schools in Hesse stands at 92 percent.

In Rhineland-Palatinate, 62 schools were honored in Mainz, resulting in 73 total awards. This includes 45 ‘MINT-friendly’ designations and 28 ‘Digital School’ titles, with 11 schools receiving both. This achievement places Rhineland-Palatinate third among Germany's 16 federal states in this category. Currently, 141 schools in the state hold valid seals.

Additionally, the certification process in Hesse included the appointment of new MINT ambassadors, such as Julia Behle and Martin Duyster from Provadis, to support educational and research projects aimed at making STEM subjects more accessible to students.
