German Shepherd puppy rescued after being tied to a lamp post in Adrano, Italy
A young German Shepherd was found tied to a public lighting pole on Via della Resistenza in Adrano, Sicily, where it remained overnight unable to move. The dog's persistent barking alerted local residents, including a group of young girls, who called the municipal police.
Local officers arrived, eased the rope around the puppy's neck, and arranged veterinary care. A microchip scan identified the owner, who has been reported to the authorities for alleged animal‑cruelty. The Italian Animalist Party filed a criminal complaint, citing the relevant penal code article. Mayor Fabio Mancuso publicly thanked the rescuers and confirmed the puppy is now being sheltered at the municipal kennel while investigations continue.
