German SMEs face rising regulatory and export control complexities

German medium-sized enterprises are facing increasing regulatory complexity from both Berlin and Brussels. To address this, the BKM association has launched the BKM Regulatory Monitor. This tool is designed to provide a structured overview of ongoing legislative projects, assess their impact on SMEs, and support the association's advocacy efforts in political decision-making processes.

Simultaneously, the IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein is addressing the growing complexities of export control laws through a specialized seminar series titled ‘Export Control is a Management Responsibility’. The program focuses on helping companies navigate sanctions evasion risks, internal compliance programs (ICP), and the specific impacts of US and Chinese export controls on German businesses. The series aims to provide practical guidance for executives and compliance officers regarding the cross-border transfer of technology and data.
