Bachem posts 4.3% H1 sales rise and launches new large‑scale Swiss facility

Bachem reported first‑half 2026 sales of CHF 326.4 million, a 4.3 % increase year‑on‑year (7.3 % in local‑currency terms). EBITDA fell to CHF 82.8 million, down 9 % with a margin of 25.4 %, while net profit edged up to CHF 50.3 million.

The company invested CHF 148.4 million in capacity during the period and announced a 2026 capex programme of CHF 350‑400 million, plus a further investment of more than CHF 500 million for the Sisslerfeld site. A new large‑scale peptide plant, Building K, was inaugurated in Bubendorf in April 2026; its ramp‑up costs weighed on the first‑semester profitability.

Bachem also named Boris Corpataux as Chief Commercial Officer, effective 1 August 2026. Management guided to 2026 local‑currency sales growth of 35‑40 % and an EBITDA margin in the low‑thirties, driven by the new facilities coming fully online later in the year.
