German sports clubs report significant player injuries

Several German sports teams are facing significant player injuries. Handball club HSG Varel announced that new goalkeeper Moritz Schröder will be sidelined indefinitely following a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, confirmed by an MRI.

In basketball, SYNTAINICS MBC captain Spencer Reaves is expected to miss at least six weeks. An MRI revealed a double ligament tear in his left ankle sustained during a test match in Chemnitz. This marks the first long-term absence for the player since joining the team in 2024.
