German stocks Nordex and Brenntag see hedge‑fund short‑position shifts as shares rise

Wind‑turbine maker Nordex saw its share price climb 3.44% to €42.64, while hedge fund D.E. Shaw reduced its net short position from 1.41% to 1.39%. Other short sellers such as Isabella Capital (0.60%), LMR Partners (0.67%) and Citadel (0.52%) kept their bets unchanged, leaving a sizable short‑seller presence despite the price gain.

Chemicals distributor Brenntag rose 1.80% to €56.48. Quantitative hedge fund AQR Capital Management increased its short exposure from 0.48% to 0.51%, crossing the reporting threshold. Additional short positions were held by Marshall Wace (0.59%) and ExodusPoint (0.60%). Both companies’ stock advances occurred alongside these modest adjustments in hedge‑fund short positions, highlighting a mixed market view among professional investors.

The concurrent share price gains and short‑position changes suggest that while some investors are trimming bets, others remain skeptical about near‑term price trajectories for the German firms.
