German survey shows high awareness but caution on weight‑loss injections
An online survey by FIT für das Leben of 409 German respondents found that 79 % are aware of prescription weight‑loss injections such as Wegovy, Ozempic or Mounjaro. Despite the high recognition, only about one‑third feel well‑informed about the benefits and risks, and more than 40 % rate their knowledge as only moderate.
A majority (79 %) expressed concerns about possible side effects, and respondents highlighted a prevailing sense of caution rather than enthusiasm. The study also revealed gender differences: women report stronger social pressure around weight and feel less informed, while men are more likely to view the injections as a last‑resort option. Age groups differ as well; younger participants encounter the treatments mainly via social media and prioritize rapid results, whereas older participants focus on safety and long‑term health.
