German suspect Manuel Fuerbass captured in Venezuela's Carabobo

German citizen Manuel Fuerbass, 32, who is wanted in Germany for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, threats and assault, was arrested by Venezuela's International Police in the state of Carabobo. The capture took place in the Valle de Oro urbanisation after investigators used field work, telephone‑expertise analysis and surveillance to locate him.

German authorities say Fuerbass had previously held his mother captive in a basement in Owingen, Germany, to force her to transfer property and bank funds to his account. The mother escaped and alerted neighbours, leading to her rescue. The arrest fulfills an Interpol red‑notice request issued by the Wiesbaden Central Office, highlighting police cooperation between Germany and Venezuela.
