German technology and industrial sectors face varying outlooks
German companies SAP and Krones are facing different market expectations as they approach upcoming financial milestones.
Bernstein Research has issued a warning regarding Krones, the manufacturer of filling and packaging systems. Analysts expect earnings per share for the upcoming quarter to be approximately 6 percent below the analyst consensus. While revenue and order intake projections remain aligned with market expectations, the focus has shifted toward the momentum of new business and its potential impact on margins.
In contrast, SAP is expressing optimism for the second half of the fiscal year. Despite a slight reduction in profit guidance due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and costs from smaller acquisitions, the company is seeing steady growth in its cloud program contract backlog. Investors are closely monitoring the Current Cloud Backlog (CCB) as a key indicator of future revenue stability, driven by the company's integration of artificial intelligence solutions.
