German television broadcasters see shifting Friday ratings
German television broadcasters experienced notable shifts in viewership and market share during recent Friday programming. Kabel Eins Doku achieved a significant milestone in the 14-49 age demographic, securing a 3.3 percent market share. This performance allowed the specialty channel to surpass its parent station, Kabel Eins, which recorded 2.6 percent, as well as ProSieben Maxx.
In competition, RTL's music-focused Friday programming showed resilience. Despite live football on ZDF, the show ‘So klingt Deutschland’ reached 0.96 million viewers, achieving a 9.0 percent market share in the 14-49 demographic. RTL's soap opera ‘Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten’ also performed strongly, drawing 1.28 million viewers and a 7.6 percent total market share, with a 14.4 percent share in the target demographic.
Other major players saw mixed results. ProSieben reached 4.6 percent in the target group, while RTL Zwei averaged 3.3 percent. ZDF led the market in the 14-49 demographic with a 10.1 percent share, followed by RTL at 8.8 percent and Vox at 6.3 percent.
