ZDF interrupts Bares für Rares XXL for live solar eclipse coverage

German television networks, including ZDF, RTL, and 3sat, have adjusted their prime-time programming to provide live coverage of a total solar eclipse occurring over Mallorca.

ZDF will interrupt its special edition of the antiques show ‘Bares für Rares XXL’ for approximately ten minutes between 20:25 and 20:35 to broadcast the celestial event. The live coverage from Mallorca will be led by astrophysicist Harald Lesch and co-moderator Jasmina Neudecker.

Other broadcasters are also participating: 3sat will air a dedicated ‘Terra X’ special featuring Lesch, while RTL will broadcast a 25-minute special from the Ballermann area. The eclipse, which coincides with sunset in the region, is expected to be a significant natural spectacle for viewers across Europe.
