German tennis clubs host summer camps for youth

Various tennis clubs in Germany held summer camps for children and adolescents during the final week of the summer holidays.

At the TVST club, the Tennisschule Stetzer organized a program for 23 children aged 5 to 15. The camp focused on refining basic strokes such as forehands, backhands, volleys, and smashes. To combat the heat, organizers included water-based activities like water fights and sponge competitions. The curriculum also integrated athletics and social games like dodgeball to foster community spirit.

Similarly, the Hattersheimer Tennisclub hosted one of the largest camps in the Main-Taunus district, involving 37 participants aged 5 to 16. Under the guidance of ten trainers, the five-day program included daily warm-ups, specialized tennis sessions covering serves, returns, tactics, and slices, as well as athletics training focused on strength, speed, and endurance. The camp also incorporated yoga for recovery and provided cooked lunches for the participants.
