German tourist acquitted in Mallorca privacy case

A German tourist has been acquitted by a criminal court in Palma de Mallorca after being accused of violating the privacy of a three-year-old girl. The incident occurred in late July at a hotel in Cala Millor, where the man photographed the child without parental consent while she was eating breakfast.

The prosecution had requested a three-year prison sentence, noting that the photograph captured a small portion of the child's underwear. However, the presiding judge ruled that while the photo was unnecessary, there was no evidence of a sexual motive. The court also noted that the defendant did not distribute or publicly share the image. The acquittal is not yet legally binding, as appeals may still be filed.
