German towns celebrate milestone birthdays of local seniors
Heidi Spähn marked her 80th birthday on 26 July in Bad Waldsee, Germany, surrounded by family, neighbours and friends. The town’s mayor Matthias Henne and mayor‑candidate Monika Ludy sent official congratulations, a gift basket and a birthday card. Spähn, a lifelong resident who worked for the Kreissparkasse Bad Waldsee before retiring, remains active in local clubs, cycling and community events.
In Waltrop, Adelheid “Heidi” Schulze Langenhorst turned 100, reflecting on a century of life that included memories of her six siblings and the everyday joys of Westphalian life. Both celebrations highlight the strong community ties and recognition given to seniors in their hometowns.
