German towns invest in playground upgrades and broadband infrastructure

In the North German village of Ahrenviöl a new ground‑level trampoline was installed on the local playground, funded mainly from surplus proceeds of recent village festivals. The community is also advancing a bike‑path plan to Ahrenviölfeld and coordinating with the firms Infratech and Netservices to extend fiber‑optic broadband to Ahrenviöl, Immenstedt and Bondelum, with installation work expected in the autumn.

In Bayreuth, the Tiroler Straße playground was modernised with new equipment, including a double swing and a play tower, after an investment of about €20,000 by the municipal housing association GEWOG. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mayor Andreas Zippel and GEWOG chief executive Jürgen Kastner, who said the upgrade aims to boost family life quality and the neighbourhood’s attractiveness.
