German towns launch youth sports programs for summer 2026

The community sports centre WMTV in Solingen (Germany) released its schedule for summer 2026, offering a series of week‑long activities for children and teenagers. Programs include a games week (July 20‑24) for ages 6‑12, a tennis week (July 27‑31) for ages 8‑14, a handball camp (August 17‑20) for ages 6‑16, and a dance‑and‑gymnastics camp (August 17‑21) for ages 6‑12. Fees range from €50 for members to €80 for non‑members, with additional costs for adult sessions.

Separately, the winter sports club Freienwalde 1923 e.V. organized a mobile ski‑jumping event in Wriezen, Brandenburg. On May 27 2026 a portable ramp was set up on the local shooting range, allowing primary‑school pupils (grades 1‑6) to try ski jumping under supervision. Around 150 children participated, with the aim of recruiting new members for ski‑jumping training. Organisers noted strong enthusiasm and requested a repeat event.

Both initiatives aim to engage local youth in sports, promote physical activity, and identify future talent.
