The municipality of Lichtenau in Saxony announced the opening of the family‑friendly Sommerbad Garnsdorf on 23 May 2026, with night‑swimming sessions on 3 July and 7 August running until 23:00. The site also promotes nearby walking and cycling routes, the historic “Anna” ferry and a 105‑metre bridge over the Chemnitz River. Near the German‑Dutch border, the Naturpark De Leemputten near Groenlo (Netherlands) offers free entry to a water‑play area featuring slides, a mud playground, boat rentals and a beach‑like zone.
