German towns Oppenheim and Eslarn invest in kindergarten expansions

The city of Oppenheim in Rhineland‑Palatinate is spending more than €1 million to expand and modernise its two kindergartens, Gänsaugraben and Herrnweiher. Works include a two‑storey extension, a larger kitchen, a new sleeping room for infants and upgraded heating systems that replace gas with heat‑pump technology. The project is partly funded by the state’s Kita‑Zukunftsgesetz, with €587 000 in grants.

In the Bavarian market of Eslarn, the municipal council and the parish community of Eslarn‑Moosbach have agreed to jointly undertake a general renovation and expansion of the St. Elisabeth kindergarten. The plan, pending necessary permits and a funding commitment, aims to modernise the facility, enlarge the kindergarten space and improve outdoor areas for the crèche. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2027.
