German towns prepare for traditional St. Martin's Day processions

Various municipalities in Germany are preparing for traditional St. Martin's Day celebrations, featuring lantern processions and community gatherings.

In Hattersheim am Main, festivities will take place across the districts of Hattersheim, Eddersheim, and Okriftel. As a Fairtrade city, Hattersheim will provide Fairtrade orange juice during the events to promote fair production and working conditions. The schedule includes events on November 8, 10, and 11.

In Wassenberg, several local districts including Birgelen, Effeld, Myhl, Ophoven, Orsbeck, and the Oberstadt are organizing their own processions. These events, scheduled throughout November, typically involve children parading with lanterns followed by the distribution of St. Martin's bags.
