German trade association HDE backs coalition committee's tax and reform signals

The German Trade Association (HDE) welcomed the coalition committee’s proposals presented on 2 July, highlighting the decision to forego a rise in value‑added tax as a major positive signal for the economy. While praising the reforms, HDE noted that further details remain lacking and called for additional measures to support businesses.

On 6 July, a series of macro‑economic releases – including industrial order intake, producer prices and retail sales – will be published alongside a conference organised by the Federal Employment Agency and the DGB that focuses on the deployment of artificial‑intelligence tools in companies. The event is expected to influence workforce planning, IT security and the broader digitalisation agenda for German firms.
