German Triathlon Championships Produce New National Champions

Local triathletes in Saxony‑Anhalt delivered strong performances at the Arendsee heat, with Susanna Hasse winning gold in the 50‑year‑old sprint class and her husband Stephan Hasse taking silver in the 60‑year group. Gerald Sommer secured a second‑place finish that earned nine qualification points for the age‑group world championship in Hamburg 2027.

At the national level, the German championships were held over short and middle distances. Jonas Wechsler and Laura Mederer claimed the short‑distance titles at the Rothsee event, while Jonathan Homburg and Marianne Juliane Kulling emerged as the men's and women's champions on the middle‑distance Viking Triathlon in Schleswig. The victories were secured with decisive swims, dominant bike legs and strong runs, and the results qualify the athletes for future elite competitions.
