Actress Maria Wedig will leave the RTL‑daily soap "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" after nearly nine years. Her character Nina Ahrens (previously Nina Klee) is set to surrender to police and confess to the murders of fellow characters Zoe and Carlos, leading to an upcoming prison sentence. The storyline culminates in episode 8585, scheduled for 13 August 2026. RTL announced the departure, quoting producer Katja Bäuerle, who praised Wedig’s “substance, intensity and absolute truthfulness” in the final arc.
