German TV ratings: Das Erste succeeds while Vox's series underperforms
German television ratings for Tuesday evening showed a significant contrast between public and private broadcasters. ARD's Das Erste achieved strong performance, particularly among the 14–49 age demographic. The medical drama ‘In aller Freundschaft’ drew 3.50 million viewers, representing a 17.3 percent market share, while ‘Die Kanzlei’ led the evening with 3.61 million viewers.
Other successful programs on Das Erste included ‘Tagesthemen’ and the talk show ‘Maischberger’, which saw high engagement in younger target groups. In contrast, the season finale of the dramedy ‘Club der roten Bänder – Die neue Generation’ on Vox failed to meet linear viewership expectations, resulting in disappointing figures for the network.
The ‘Club der roten Bänder’ series, based on the autobiographical work of Albert Espinosa, originally gained international acclaim including an International Emmy Kids Award. The new generation of the series began streaming on RTL+, Sky, and WOW in late August before moving to free-to-air television on Vox.
