German universities announce new academic programs for 2026/27

German universities are launching new academic programs for the 2026/27 period. The Center for Science Didactics (ZfW) at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) will begin a higher education teaching qualification program on October 1, 2026. The program includes over 30 workshops covering topics such as neurodivergence, student self-efficacy, and oral examination design. Participants can earn a nationally recognized certificate in professional teaching competence through a modular system.

Separately, the University of Wuppertal is hosting information sessions in September for its senior studies program. The initiative, supported by the Center for Continuing Education (ZWB) and the Association for the Promotion of Studies in Old Age (vfsa), allows older individuals to attend lectures and seminars for scientific enrichment without the goal of a formal degree. Information events will be held in Elberfeld and on the Grifflenberg campus to discuss participation requirements and academic opportunities.
