German universities welcome new student cohorts for winter semester

German universities TH Köln and TH Rosenheim have welcomed new cohorts of students for the winter semester.

At the TH Köln campus in Gummersbach, approximately 600 new students were enrolled. Notable enrollment numbers were seen in Industrial Engineering (116 students) and Business Informatics (74 students). Despite a lack of high school graduates this year, the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering maintained its enrollment numbers compared to the previous year. Orientation activities included campus tours and information sessions organized by senior students and university services.

TH Rosenheim reported over 2,100 new first-year students. The largest groups are enrolled in the Faculty of Business Administration, followed by Wood Technology and Construction, and Computer Science. The university also highlighted strong starts for new bachelor's programs in Energy Technology and Renewable Energies, Building Technology and Energy Efficiency, and Smart Interactive Media. Local officials and university leadership participated in orientation events to welcome the incoming students to the city and campus.
