German University Hospital Implements COSYS Digital Material Logistics

A university hospital in Germany has adopted the COSYS software platform to digitise its internal material logistics. The system, designed for intra‑hospital transport (IBT), allows staff to create, prioritise and track transport orders for medicines, sterile goods, lab samples, blood units, medical devices and consumables in real time.

By moving from phone calls and paper records to a central digital workflow, the hospital aims to cut waiting times, reduce coordination effort and improve traceability and hygiene compliance. Each transport is logged with timestamps and status updates, giving staff instant visibility of the material’s location and enabling rapid response to urgent needs in operating rooms, intensive care units and laboratories.

The implementation is expected to ease the workload of nurses and logistics personnel, minimise redundant queries between departments and enhance overall patient‑care efficiency within the German healthcare setting.
