German urban rail disruptions cause delays in Stuttgart and Munich

In the Stuttgart area, several Stadtbahn lines experienced service interruptions. Line S6 between Bad Wildbad stations was halted for up to 15 hours, with no bus replacement arranged. A signal failure in the Grötzingen area affected lines S4 and S5, prompting partial delays, occasional cancellations and limited bus‑substitute services.

In Munich, scheduled repairs on railway switches on Saturday afternoon disrupted S‑Bahn services on lines S1, S5 and S8. The S5 segment between Aying and Kreuzstraße was completely suspended, with trains turning back at Aying and taxi‑shuttle services provided for passengers. The S8 saw 5‑10‑minute delays between Daglfing and Ostbahnhof, while the S1 experienced up to 10‑minute delays on the Neufahrn‑Airport stretch. The disruptions were cleared by late afternoon.
