German villages celebrate traditional marksmen and harvest festivals
Local villages in Germany recently held combined marksmen and harvest festivals, celebrating community traditions despite modern trends. The events featured various competitions and parades.
In the marksmen competitions, Aik Herjürgen defended the youth title, while Miriam Brandt won the women's category. Steven Schweda secured the men's title after a record-breaking number of attempts at the 'Königsscheibe'. Additionally, Iris Jessen and Uwe Schmidt were crowned 'Kings of Kings', and Jan Langwost was named the new citizen king.
The festivities included a parade with musical accompaniment and decorated vehicles, including a themed trailer. The celebration concluded with community gatherings following the traditional processions.
