German water parks launch new attractions in March and August
The Laguna water park in the Dreiländereck opened a spectacular new slide on 14 March. Built by Wiegand Waterrides GmbH, the 10‑metre‑high slide starts at a 20 percent decline, leads into a closed bowl‑shaped funnel and ends in a splash pool. The attraction, aimed at guests aged twelve and up, was installed while the existing slides remained partially closed and will be named by visitors through a naming contest.
On 5 August, the Freibad am Prießnitzweg in Landau hosted the "Einhornspringen" event organized by die neue welle. Participants competed to stay on an inflatable unicorn the longest while jumping from a tower into the pool, with cash and prize vouchers awarded. The free‑entry event also featured music, a lucky‑wheel and 1,000 ice‑cream vouchers distributed by the city’s marketing agency.
