German water polo clubs achieve regional success

Water polo clubs in Germany have achieved significant success in recent regional competitions. In Hildesheim, members of Hellas-1899, SV Eintracht Hildesheim, and VfV Hildesheim collected a total of 24 gold, eight silver, and one bronze medal at the Masters state championships.

Notably, the Hellas-1899 water polo specialists are returning to competitive swimming after decades of focusing solely on water polo. The senior players are training with the goal of participating in the 2027 Masters World Championship in Budapest, using the recent state championships as a performance benchmark.

In Fulda, the Wasserfreunde Fulda youth water polo teams secured a triple championship in the Hessen state league. The club's U14, U12, and U10 teams all finished the 2025/2026 season undefeated. The U12 team recorded over 200 goals across eight matches, while the U14 team finished with a goal ratio of 121:32. The club is now preparing for upcoming regional tournaments and a training camp in Austria.
