German women's football clubs celebrate 55‑year anniversary and secure promotion playoff win

The women's football department of DJK Blau‑Weiß Hildesheim marked its 55th anniversary, recalling its founding in 1971 and milestones such as pioneering matches and league titles. The club now fields two senior women's teams and a youth side, continuing its long‑standing presence in regional competition.

In a separate match, Hertha BSC Frauen won the first leg of their promotion playoff against 1. FC Saarbrücken 4–1 at the Ludwigsparkstadion, taking a solid lead into the return leg scheduled for 21 June in Berlin.
