German women's sports teams announce promotions and stadium moves

HC Leipzig has secured promotion to the women's 1. Bundesliga handball division. Following a period of rebuilding after a 2017 insolvency-related relegation, the team clinched their spot with a 37-24 victory against Mainz 05. The club is also moving its home matches to the Sportcenter Markranstädt to provide fans with a closer viewing experience. Their Bundesliga debut is scheduled for August 29, 2026, against BVB Dortmund.

In football, the Karlsruher SC women's team will begin playing home matches at the Carl-Kaufmann-Stadion in Karlsruhe starting in September. The move from Bruchsal is intended to increase the team's attractiveness to fans and support the club's strategic development of women's football. The club noted that the Wildpark facility was not selected due to capacity constraints caused by the professional men's team and the youth academy.
